Below is an excellent video and learning tool about Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). It was filmed, produced, and edited by Garrett Olson of the Missoula Smokejumpers. The video is found on the Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center – Learning From Incidents series website. Information  in this video contains stories about the importance of critical incident stress management (CISM); information on CISM Peer Support Teams; past experiences and lessons learned; and interviews with survivors of past incidents.

Description of the video from the Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center:

“Sometimes incident personnel experience stress reactions because of a particularly traumatic event, or because of the cumulative effect of stressful events. Critical Incident Stress Managment (CISM) services are crisis intervention techniques that help participants reduce stress levels and experience less stress symptoms. These CISM related interviews will provide you with information on CISM Peer Teams and how they help to establish trust and increase effectiveness.”

This is a must watch video for wildland firefighters, supervisors, managers, and agency administrators.
